About Me

I’m a writer/director based out of Sunderland and have directed a bunch of short films, written for the stage, and working to have a career in TV/Film.

Being an independent filmmaker has meant I’ve worked in many other departments. I’ve been the director of photography, prop maker, set dresser, producer, 1st AD, and cup of tea maker. I’ve enjoyed each role as it’s given me a greater understanding of how each department works and serves the overall story.

My 10 year old self would not believe I like to write screenplays. Being dyslexic, words have never been my friend, so my scripts go through many rounds of spelling and text to speech checks.

I wrote this quote 10 years ago and it’s still true. – I’d love to make that one film. The one that you tell your family about, the one that you grow up with but don’t grow out of.

YouTube Channel

I run a YouTube channel called The Film Look, where we make educational videos all about making short films. The channel has been running since 2016 and has over 300+ videos, 68,000+ subscribers, and has gained over 3 million views worldwide.

Running the channel has been a massive learning experience from creating content on a daily basis, making videos that both educates and entertains, marketing for social media platforms and also connecting with people from around the world.

Below is a video which I think sums up The Film Look YouTube channel.
